          Our practice facilities are even newer than the course, with two new practice greens and bunker area. We’ve re-built the tee area so that when necessary up to 20 golfers at a time can hit off grass, not mats.

          You can sharpen your chipping and putting under pristine conditions at Poplar Ridge.

          For lessons, it’s back to the basics with Head Pro Shawn Woods. In fact, Shawn’s philosophy is: “Basics, basics, basics.” You can clearly understand Shawn’s desire to leave every golfer he instructs with a solid golf foundation.

          Shawn says, “I build the student from what the student has, and it always comes down to the basics. I want my students to understand the game, the nuances, the little things … .”

          You can get video tape student swing analysis, but Shawn won’t overburden his students: “I try to not give you too much – I keep it short and sweet. No over-coaching.”
